March is Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month

You may have seen our activities this month celebrating March as Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month. At the Shelby County Board of Developmental Disabilities, we strive to remind our community that we are all better when we include everyone. This month we celebrated by including our local libraries in Shelby County. We paired staff members up with an individual served and visited library story times across the county to share a book called “You Are Enough,” written by Sofia Sanchez. The author has Down Syndrome and shares a message about inclusion. If you haven’t read it, you definitely want to check it out and share it with your family.
