Sidney High School celebrates an enchanted evening

SIDNEY —Sidney High School hosted “A Night on the Red Carpet” for their junior/senior prom on Saturday, April 13, 2024, at the Shelby County Fairgrounds. Among the glitz and glamor of the evening, the prom court was celebrated and a king and queen were crowned in Rylee Vestal, son of Adam Vestal, and Olivia Barga, daughter of Brad Barga and Jennifer Barga.

CareFlight Air kicks off Drive Smart season

Anna to crown king, queen April 20

ANNA — Anna High School will host its annual prom on Saturday, April 29, at the Oaks Club, Shelby Oaks, Sidney. Students will arrive between 6-7 p.m. with dinner — catered by The Spot — will be held from 7-8 p.m.

Conservation Poster Contest underway

SIDNEY — The Shelby Soil & Water Conservation District (SWCD) is pleased to announce they are once again sponsoring the National Association of Conservation Districts’ (NACD) yearly poster competition in Shelby County. This competition encourages students to use their creative talents, learn through researching the chosen theme and gives them a voice in conservation stewardship.

Fairlawn High School crowned its king and queen Saturday night for their 2024 prom. The king is Nolan Cramer, 18, son of Jeremy and Jennifer Martin of Sidney, and the queen is Ellie Henman, 18, daughter of Mitch and Lorri Henman of Sidney.

Houston crowns king, queen

Chad Penny and Emma Waesch were crowned Houston High School’s king and queen during the Saturday night, April 6, prom. The king is the son of Chad and Angel Penny. The queen is the daughter of Dave and Mindy Waesch.

Midwest Electric awards $11,000 in scholarships to 13 high school seniors

ST MARYS — Twelve area high school seniors were awarded a Children of Members Scholarship from Midwest Electric Inc. Two first-place students received $1,500, two second-place students received $1,000, two third-place students received $750, and six honorable mention students received $500 each toward their college education.
