PIQUA — Edison State Community College and the Miami County Farm Bureau partnered to host the first annual Agriculture Career Fair on March 15, 2024. Approximately 140 students from about 10 local agriculture programs attended, where they visited with local businesses and learned about career opportunities available in agriculture.

PIQUA — The Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy at Edison State Community College is now accepting applications for the approximately 23-week program that will prepare students for a career in law enforcement.

PIQUA — The Upper Valley Career Center had great success at the SkillsUSA State Competition held April 9-10 in Columbus. Fourteen UVCC students finished in the top three and the school was announced as one in 24 nationally recognised SkillsUSA Models of Excellence.

LIMA – The Rhodes State College Foundation held its 26th Annual Scholarship Reception on April 17, 2024. The celebration gathered student scholarship recipients, scholarship donors and representatives, College leaders and Board members, as well as alumni, family, and friends.

COLUMBUS — The Ohio Association of Elementary School Administrators (OAESA) announced that Emerson Primary School in the Sidney City School District has been selected as a 2024 OAESA Hall of Fame School.

SIDNEY — Sidney City Schools is sharing the news that Sidney Middle School has been recognized by the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce (ODEW) for achieving the Momentum Award for its results on the 2022-23 state report card.

SIDNEY — Sidney City Schools is announcing a new partnership with Right At School, a nationally recognized school enrichment provider, for before and after-school care to replace Latchkey. Starting in the fall of 2024, Right At School will offer the program to students in kindergarten through fifth grades. (Sidney City Schools Latchkey will continue to be available through the end of the current school year.)
