SIDNEY — Hilary Nicole Preece, of Sidney, and Joshua Cory Preston, of New Carlisle, have announced their engagement and plans to marry, Oct. 28, 2017.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Linda (Treen) and Mike Preece, of Sidney. She graduated from Sidney High School and the Upper Valley Career Center with a cosmetology license in 2009, from Edison Community College with an Associate of Arts and Humanities in 2012 and from Franklin University with a Bachelor of Science in criminal justice administration in 2014. She is enrolled in the Upper Valley Career Center licensed practical nursing program and is employed by the Styling Co. in Sidney as a cosmetologist.

Her fiance is the son of Danette Brown, of New Carlisle, and John Preston, of Springfield, and the stepson of Steve Brown, of New Carlisle. He is a 2008 Tecumseh High School graduate. He is employed by NK Parts as an associate.
