RUSSIA — Stacy Renee Starr, of Fairfield, and Curtis Edward Schafer, of Houston, were united in marriage, April 16, 2016, at 1:30 p.m., in the St. Remy Church in Russia.

The bride is the daughter of Michelle and Ray Starr, of Fairfield. The bridegroom is the son of Ola and Michael Schafer, of Russia.

The Rev. Martin Fox performed the ceremony.

The bride was given in marriage by her father. Amber Preston served as her sister’s maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Aliana Mabelitini and Meredith Eblen. Madyson Preston was a junior bridesmaid and Aaliyah Preston was the flower girl.

Nathan Marchal was the best man. Groomsmen were Adam Schroeder, Brad Muhlenkamp, Ethan Schafer and Kyle Schafer.

A reception in the church followed the ceremony. The couple honeymooned in Cozumel, Mexico, and reside in Houston. They had met online.

The bride graduated from Stephen T. Badin High School in 2007 and from Cincinnati State Technical and Community College in 2012, where she earned an Associate of Applied Science in surgical technology. She is employed by an area hospital as a surgical technologist.

The bridegroom is a 2003 graduate of Russia High School and earned a Master of Library amd Information Science in 2009 from Kent State University. He is employed by a library.
