Association seeks four trustees

HOUSTON — The Houston Community Association is in need of trustees to assist with the organization.

At its Oct. 5 meeting, those present learned four trustees are needed. Anyone interested in being a trustee should contact Jason Curl, Jack Curl, Gene Greve, Patty Cotterman or Phil Cozad or come to the November meeting. These trustees are very busy with all of the events currently going on and would welcome some help.

The Lake Festival held at Fort Loramie state park on Sept. 16, 17 and 18 was once again a success. Trustees would like to thank all the volunteers that helped with this event.

The first Pizza Friday night was held Oct. 7. The next one will be Nov. 4 from 4:30 to 9 p.m. The group continues to need volunteers to help with this fundraiser too. Anyone interested in helping should call Jason or Jack Curl.

Hardin and Houston area Trick or Treat night will be held Thursday, Oct. 27, from 6 to 8 p.m. Houston Fire Department will be handing out candy at both ends of Houston along state Route 66. The truck lights will be flashing to help slow down traffic through town.

The group’s next fundraiser dinner will held Sunday, Nov. 13, from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. This dinner if the Annual Turkey/Ham dinner. Preparation day will be Nov. 12. Anyone interested in helping with preparation or at the dinner should call Connie Wright. The menu will consist of turkey or ham, dressing, sweet potatoes or mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans or corn, cole slaw or salad, coffee or punch. Homemade desserts will be available as well as pop and water. This dinner is a donation.
