SIDNEY — Members of the Sidney Dance Company will bring the beloved ballet paintings of Edgar Degas to life during a fundraising gala, Oct. 15, at 7 p.m., in the Historic Sidney Theatre, 120 W. Poplar St.

“Degas and the Dancer: Bringing Art to Life” will feature performances by the student dancers that comprise the troupe. There will also be hors do’oeuvres, a silent auction and wines, for an additional fee, from Versailles Winery.

Tickets cost $15 and are available at www.sidneytheatre.org and at the door.

Proceeds will support the dance company’s participation in a program at Walt Disney World in Florida in June. The dancers will attend clinics and perform at the resort.
