Haiku contest sets deadline

TIPP CITY — Haiku Tippecanoe, a collaborative effort of the Tipp City Area Art Council, Christmas in the Village (CITV), the Tipp City Public Library and Tipp Monroe Community Services, is seeking Christmas and winter haiku entries from students in grades 3 through 12 and adults.

Some of these entries will be featured on the 2016 CITV Home Tour route and in windows of local businesses. Prizes will be awarded to the winning entries. Entries must be received by Nov. 7 in order to be eligible for judging. Prizes will be awarded for each age level (grades 3-4; grades 5-6; grades 7-8; grade 9-12 and adult). All haiku entries will be eligible for a drawing for two, free Christmas in the Village Home Tour tickets.

A free Haiku Tippecanoe writing workshop will be Oct 15 from 1 to 2:30 p.m. in the Tipp City Public Library. Suggestions, help, and fun will be available and refreshments will be served. Register for the workshop at 937-667-8631.
