BOTKINS — The Botkins Village Council met Tuesday night.

The council passed an ordinance allowing the county prosecutor to take care of all municipal court cases from the village. They read the annual appropriations ordinance for the second time; that will be passed at the next and final meeting of the year on Dec. 8.

For most of the meeting, the council continued the discussion of soccer’s use of the villages park. There was more agreement and consensus on what entities will be allowed out at the park, along with what areas of the park are to be used for soccer.

The council reminded to public of several upcoming events. On Dec. 6 there will be a Christmas celebration in the village.

Santa will be available from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Botkins Historical Society Museum. Christmas trees decorated with ornaments made by the village’s youth will be on display. The newly revitalized Botkins Historical Society will also have exhibits relating to sports and education, music, the military and local businesses on display.

Frosty will be available for pictures from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Botkins Fire Department. There will also be games and baked goods.

The Botkins Beautification Club is sponsoring the Botkins Christmas Tour of Homes. The tours will be from 3 to 5 p.m. and feature the homes of Nick and Megan Greve, Jerry and Freda Hill, Rich and Chris Meyer, Joyce Raterman, and Karen Rogers.
