PORT JEFFERSON — Members of the Order of the Eastern Star Stokes Chapter No. 543 in Port Jefferson learned about the neighborhood watch program during their Nov. 9 meeting.

David Geuy told the group that anyone can attend the quarterly meetings of the neighborhood watch group, which watches for things that are unusual in the neighborhood. Geuy said that speakers from the sheriff’s office inform the group about what to look for.

The next Eastern Star meeting will be Dec. 6. It will be a potluck dinner at 6 p.m. Members should take covered dishes to share.
