SIDNEY — Music from the Beatles to the comedy of The Second City, Gateway Arts Council is continuing its tradition of bringing professional entertainment to Shelby County. The 2016-17 Presents Series was announced Sunday night during the final performance of the 2015-16 season.

Under the Street Lamp will open the season on Sunday, Nov. 13, 2016, with a performance at 7 p.m. at Sidney High School auditorium.

Under the Streetlamp is America’s hottest new vocal group, delivering an evening of classic hits. Often referred to as the modern day “Rat Pack,” the voices of the four lead singers deliver an evening of unforgettable entertainment. The show includes classic hits of the 50s, 60s, and 70s with a balance of tender ballads and up-tempo classics. The audience will hear Doo-Wop, Motown, old time Rock ‘n’ Roll and favorite songs from The Drifters, The Beach Boys, The Beatles, The Four Seasons and many others. All the songs are delivered in the matchless Under the Streetlamp style, with tight harmonies and slick dance moves that will take the crowd back to an era of sharkskin suits, flashy cars and martini shakers.

Under the Streetlamp has been featured on Broadway, in film and television, and showcased on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, The Emmy Awards, and The Oprah Winfrey Show. Accompanied by a band of elite musicians, the four former cast members of the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical “Jersey Boys” provide an electrifying concert. “Retro never sounded so now.”
