Sidney City Schools Board of Education

SIDNEY — The Sidney City Schools Board of Education will hold a special meeting Monday, June 27, at 7 a.m. at the board office. The board will consider personnel, which will include the hiring of an assistant principal for Sidney Middle School, a Sidney Middle School IS teacher, and a substitute teacher.

They will also consider approval of the 2016-17 contract with the Sidney-Shelby County Board of Health to provide school health services including services for certain medically handicapped students, clinic services, screening services, and kindergarten assessment for the period of July 1, 2015 through June 30, 2016. Also on the agenda will be an item to amend IDEA-Part B and Title I appropriations.

The board will also accept several resignations, those of Michael Epperly, Michael Galloway, Bryan Gray, Dan Lewis, and Jodi Danzig.

Sidney City Council

SIDNEY — The Sidney City Council will meet on Monday, June 27, at 6:30 p.m in the Municipal Building’s Council Chambers.

There will be a introduction to the city’s new fire department personnel.

It is expected for council to adopt five ordinances, and they include: an assessment for the cost of the removal of litter or junk; a supplement to the code of ordinances for the city; an amendment to a codified ordinance pertaining to “parking permits;” an amendment to the 2016 pay table III, relating to part-time employees by adding a “special projects coordinator,” and amending the schedule C of the 2016 pay schedule by adding a newly created “Community Control Action (CCA) program coordinator” position, and declaring an emergency; to make supplemental appropriations for 2016.

There will be an introduction of an ordinance to amend codified ordinances pertaining to “weeds.”

Council will hear three resolutions, and they include: the reappointment of Tom Ehler to the Zoning Board of Appeals, the reappointment of Susan Kaser and Tom Burns to the Revolving Loan Committee, and an authorization for the city manager to enter into an agreement with the Board of Trustees of Clinton Township for the shared maintenance of a portion of various roads, within the corporate limits of Sidney.

There also will be a discussion on the garbage can placement regulations.

Upper Valley Career Center Board of Education

PIQUA — The Upper Valley Career Center Board of Education will meet Monday, June 27, at 6 p.m. in the Adams Board Room.

Items on the agenda include approving temporary appropriations for fiscal year 2017, approve appropriation amendments for FY 2016, various purchases, donations, out of state travel and personnel items.

Jackson Center Village Council

JACKSON CENTER — The Jackson Center Village Council will meet Monday, June 27, at 7 p.m. in council chambers. Items on the agenda include a resolution creating an enterprise improvement fund. They also will consider an ordinance authorizing certain adjustments in the 2016 Annual Appropriations of public funds.

They will hear various committee and city official reports, as well as have an executive session for the purpose of discussing the purchase or sale of real estate.

New Knoxville Local Schools Board of Education

NEW KNOXVILLE — The New Knoxville Local Schools Board of Education will meet Monday, June 27, at 7 p.m. in the media center.

Items on the agenda include appropriation modifications and temporary appropriations; a resolution for the issuance of bonds for an advance refunding a portion of school facilities construction and refunding bonds; and approve revisions to the various handbooks for next school year.
