SIDNEY — The Shelby County Animal Rescue Foundation (SCARF) has announced that nominations for its 2016 Top Cat Contest will close July 3.

People who want to nominate their cats can do so for a fee of $5 per cat at www.helpshelbycountyanimals.com. Pictures of the nominated pets will be posted on the website from July 11 to July 24.

People can vote for their favorites then, at a cost of $1 per vote. The cat who gets the most votes by raising the most money will be named 2016 Top Cat. It’s owner will wiin a professional photo session for the cat at Picture Perfect Photos & Design. That photo will be featured by SCARF on its website, Facebook page and brochure.

Votes can also be mailed to SCARF at P.O. Box 671, Sidney, OH 45365. Mailed votes must be checks made payable to SCARF with the name of the pet to be voted for in the memo line of the check. Checks must be received by July 25 for the votes to be counted.

Money raised will be used by SCARF to support veterinary care for animals at the Shelby County Animal Shelter.
