Where to see fireworks this July Fourth

SIDNEY — For those looking to “ooo” and “ahh” this Independence Day, Shelby County and the surrounding area will offer many opportunities to do so.

Fireworks in Sidney will be held on July 4, at 10 p.m. at Sidney Middle School, 980 Fair Road. In the event of rain, the fireworks will be held on July 5 at the same time and location. Before the fireworks display, an ice cream social, car show, and other festive activities will be held starting at 6 p.m.

Fireworks in Fort Loramie will be held Friday, July 1, at 10:30 p.m. The Fort Loramie Liberty Days Festival runs all weekend. There will be many activities including live music, turtle races, trivia, inflatables, petting zoo, tractor pull, cutest baby contests, and dunk tank. Fireworks in New Knoxville will be held Sunday, July 3, at 10 p.m. The Annual Independence Day Celebration in New Knoxville, Ohio, will take place on Saturday and Sunday. There will be a corn hole and softball tournament, book sale, raffles and inflatables, a 5K walk/run, a pie contest, little league games, and live music.. In Piqua, a fireworks display will be shot off over the riverfront starting at 9:40 p.m. on July 4. There will also be daytime festivities in Fountain Park and evening activities at Lock 9 Riverfront Park. Attendees will be able to sit along the riverfront, at Lock 9 Park, and even on the bike path bridge that goes over the river to watch the fireworks.

Troy will begin its fireworks presentation at 10 p.m. in the levee area on July 4. Fireworks in Tipp City will begin at the same time in City Park.

Greenville’s fireworks will take place at dusk (about 10 p.m.) on Saturday, July 2, at the Darke County Fairgrounds, 800 Sweitzer St.
