SIDNEY — A Sidney man was killed following a motorcycle/SUV crash Tuesday afternoon.

Philip Brown, 67, of Sidney, was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office, Brown was driving a motorcycle southbound on Sidney Freyburg Road at the time of the accident.

The SUV, driven by Linda Meininger, 73, of Sidney, was northbound on Sidney Freyburg Road. Meininger was starting to make a left turn onto Hoewisher Road and failed to see the motorcycle. She turned into the motorcycle’s path, resulting in a near head-on collision.

Meininger, who serves as the Shelby County treasurer, was uninjured in the accident.

The accident remains under investigation.

Funeral arrangements for Brown are pending at Adams Funeral Home, Sidney.
