SIDNEY — The case against Jackson Center Police Chief Joseph Cotterman has been continued.

His trail, which was set to begin next Tuesday, July 26, has no new date scheduled yet.

According to Shelby County Prosecutor Tim Sell, another case was set to be at trial the same time, so the judge decided to go ahead with the older case.

Cotterman is accused of having sexual contact with a 19-year-old female. He was indicted on the gross sexual imposition charge in February. His trial was originally supposed to start in May, but was pushed back to July at the request of the attorney’s in the case.
