Riverside students return to class on Aug. 17

DEGRAFF — Two new teachers will be greeting students in the Riverside Local School District when they return to classes on Wednesday, Aug. 17.

Dexter Tobie will be teaching Spanish for the district. Mariah Krugh will be teaching high school math.

“We are looking forward to another great year at Riverside Local Schools,” said Superintendent Scott Mann.

A one-to-one Chrome book program will be implemented for students in grades five to 12. A computer cart will be used for each grade level from kindergarten through fourth grade.

The first day of kindergarten for girls enrolled in the district will be Monday, Aug. 22. The first day for boys in kindergarten will be Tuesday, Aug. 23. All kindergarten students will be in school on Wednesday, Aug. 24.

Parent teacher conferences are planned for Nov. 3-4 and Nov. 10. Thanksgiving break will be Nov. 24-27. Christmas break will be Dec. 21 to Jan 2.

Spring parent teacher conferences will be held Feb. 14 and 23. Spring break is planned for April 10-13. An exchange day will be held April 14.

Graduation is planned for Friday, May 19. The last student day will be May 24.

Snow make-up days are planned for Jan. 16, Feb. 20 and spring break.

During the summer, the district completed a track resurfacing project.
