Goblins, princesses, witches to visit downtown Sidney

SIDNEY — The annual Kids Fall Fest is coming to downtown Sidney.

The city’s tradition continues on Saturday, Oct. 15, as ghosts, witches, superheroes and princesses “haunt” downtown Sidney. As in the past, this year’s event will give all children throughout the county a day to dress as their favorite characters as they enter the yearly costume contest on the north side of the Shelby County Courthouse. Children can register from 10 to 10:45 a.m. in the following age groups: 0-3, 4-5, 6-7 and 8-12. The contest will begin at 11 a.m. with prizes awarded for the favorite costumes in each age group.

Fall Fest will also include fun games, crafts, and activities on the courtsquare as well as Amos Memorial Public Library. Activities will begin at 10 a.m. and run to 1 p.m.

Trick-or-Treat at participating businesses (just look for the TRICK-OR-TREAT sign in the window) will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Costumes are required for trick-or-treating and for ages 1-12 only.

Sponsors of this year’s event are the city of Sidney, Sidney Body Carstar, Sidney Visitors Bureau, Sidney Manufacturing, Primary EyeCare Associates, Spherion Staffing Services, Advanced Composites, Veteran’s Services of Shelby County, Ron & Nitas, Sidney City Schools, Lee’s Famous Recipe Chicken and Shelby County Focus.Com.
