LIMA — The apprentices of IBEW Local 32 (International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers) raised $2,730 in cash and approximately 700 pounds of food for West Ohio Community Action Partnership (WOCAP) and Allen County Veterans Food Pantry (ACVFP).

They did this through the sale of 50/50 tickets, raffles, and a food collection.

“Our apprentices put forth a lot of effort this year to help our others in need,” said Training Director Jerry Dickrede. “There was a lot of thought and consideration on our fund raiser chosen this year. With a lot of people and organizations in need, our apprentice council carefully picked a couple that stuck out to them.”

He continued, “West Ohio Community Action Partnership and Allen County Veterans Food Pantry were the two organizations that stood out. With the programs that WOCAP has to offer in financial aid and the education aspect they also provide, and the ACVFP providing to veterans that have proudly served this great country and have paved the way for us to lead our free lives, this is our way to say thank you.”

IBEW Local 32 covers Allen, Auglaize, Van Wert, Shelby, Logan, Wyandot, Putnam, Hardin, and Mercer counties.
