Four new trustees elected to UW board

SIDNEY — Allen Bertke, surveyor and project manager, Choice One Engineering; Heather Boerger, human resources generalist, Edgewell Personal Care; Cindy Endsley, middle school principal, Anna Local Schools; and Brent Schroeder, group president, Heating & Air Conditioning, Emerson Commercial and Residential Solutions; have been elected to the Shelby County United Way Board of Trustees beginning Jan. 1, 2017.

“These individuals bring to the United Way a strong commitment of community service and strong leadership skills with their unique and vast backgrounds and skill sets,” said Scott Barr, executive director of the Shelby County United Way. “Their professional and personal experiences will strengthen and diversify our Board. We are grateful they have agreed to serve our community.”

Bertke, a resident of Sidney, Ohio, joins the Marketing Committee. He is a graduate of Fort Loramie High School and Northern Kentucky University where he earned his Bachelor’s in Construction Management. He has been employed with Choice One Engineering for 11 years and holds an Advanced Surveying Certificate from Cincinnati State Community College. He is married to his wife, Melissa, and they have four children.

Boerger, a resident of Sidney, Ohio, joins the Special Projects Committee and will be the vice-chair of the Events and Activities Committee. She is a graduate of Houston High School and obtained her Masters of Business Administration from Franklin University. She has served as a United Way Allocation Community Volunteer. She is married to her husband, Bill, and they have two children.

Endsley, a resident of Anna, Ohio, joins the Marketing Committee and will chair the Community Initiatives Committee. She is a graduate of St. Paul’s Catholic School in Norwalk, Ohio, and earned her Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Education from The Ohio State University and her Master’s of Education from the University of Dayton. She is active in the community serving as the Anna Foot Ball Moms President and in the past serving with Child Guidance, Charity League and Holy Angels PTO. She is married to her husband, Dave, and they have two children.

Schroeder, a resident of Troy, Ohio, joins the Special Projects Committee. He is a graduate of Defiance High School and Ohio Northern University where he earned his Bachelor’s of Science in Electrical Engineering. Prior to being group president, he was the president of Therm-O-Disc, a division of Emerson and President of Fusite, also a division of Emerson. He previously served as a board member for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Richland County and the Chamber of Commerce of Richland County. He is married to his wife, Kelly, and they have two children.
