Upper Valley Career Center Board of Education

PIQUA — The Upper Valley Career Center Board of Education will meet Monday, March 27, at 6 p.m. in the Adams Board Room.

Reports will be given by the board president, board member and superintendent. The board is expected to approve out-of-state travel for Tony Trapp, apprenticeship coordinator, so he can attend the Apprenticeship Forward Conference in Washington, D.C., in May. Also on the agenda is a resolution approving an enterprise zone agreement between the village of Fort Loramie and Wayne Trail Technologies. Personnel items are also on the agenda.

Hardin-Houston Board of Education

HOUSTON — The Hardin-Houston Board of Education will meet in special session, Monday, March 27, at 6 p.m.

The board will immediately move into executive session to conduct negotiations and then approve the low bid for the concession stand/restroom facility project.

Sidney City Council

SIDNEY — The Sidney City Council will meet Monday, March 27, at 6:30 p.m. in council chambers in the Municipal Building. They will hear a presentation on the annual police report and on recreational opportunities.

Council is expected to adopt two ordinances for assessment of weed cutting or junk/litter removal costs and for an extension of the existing medical marijuana moratorium until Oct. 9, 2017.

Council will also be introduced to an ordinance for adopting a city purchasing card policy.

Council is expected to adopt eight resolutions, and they are:

• To rescind a resolution adopted on Oct. 13, 2014 which granted consent to the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) to remove and replace deficient structures situated within the city due to additional structures deemed necessary by ODOT;

• To authorize the reappointment of Mary Jannides to the recreation board;

• For the ratification of the city manager’s execution of an agreement for the purchase of natural gas for Sidney’s natural gas aggregation program;

• To authorize the city manager to enter into a special event use agreement with Raise The Roof for the Arts;

• To accept the Frantz replat of lot 6920;

• To authorize the city manager to enter into a development agreement pertaining to the re-plat of lot 6920;

• To authorize the city manager to enter into a a collective bargaining agreement with the International Association of Firefighters, Local 912;

• To authorize payment to the office of the Shelby County prosecuting attorney for the rendering of substitute prosecuting attorney services during the temporary absence of the law director.

In addition, council will also hold an executive session on the employment of a public employee, to consider the purchase of property for public purposes and for pending or imminent court action.

New Knoxville Board of Education

NEW KNOXVILLE — The New Knoxville Local Schools Board of Education will meet Monday, March 27, at 7 p.m. in the media center.

Reports will be given by a representative of the New Knoxville Education Association, Jenny Fledderjohann, who is the 7-12 principal, and Superintendent Kim Waterman. The board is expected to hire substitute teachers for the district. An executive session is planned to review negotiations.
