May 4 is National Day of Prayer

SIDNEY — Organizers have been busy planning a celebration of the National Day of Prayer in Sidney. Thursday, May 4, is the National Day of Prayer. Shelby County will celebrate this special day with a Prayer on the Square gathering on the historic Shelby County Courthouse lawn. The noon to 1 p.m. assembly will feature inspirational remarks from local leaders and a key note presentation by Mark Burd, co-chairman for reviveOHIO.

Music at this National Day of Prayer celebration will be performed by a combined high school choir comprised of representatives from Fairlawn, Christian Academy, Lehman Catholic, Jackson Center, and Sidney high schools. A complimentary brown bag lunch will also be offered by Wilson Health.

In the event of rain, the program will be moved to the Sanctuary at Sidney First United Methodist Church, 230 E. Poplar St. in Sidney.

The National Day of Prayer celebration in Shelby County is a nondenominational event and the public is invited.
