GREENVILLE — For more than a decade, Darke County Parks summer camps have been an annual tradition for families.

In the parks’ continued commitment to get kids outside to learn, appreciate and enjoy nature, they offer two styles of camps, day camps and mini camps.

The day camps include hands-on activities, a T-shirt, a snack and take-home items. Camps for children 6-7 are “Things With Wings,” a flight-themed camp, June 19-23; and “Rocks,” a geology camp, June 26-30. The sessions run from 10 a.m. to noon and there is $65 fee for each camp.

Camps for children 8-9 will be “Trailblazers,” an adventure- and hiking-themed camp, July 10-14, and “Ocean Explorers,” a sea-themed camp, July 24-29. Sessions will run from 10 a.m. to noon and there is a $70 fee for each camp.

Camps for children 10-12 are “Let’s Paddle,” a canoe and kayak camp, June 12-16, from 1 to 4 p.m.; and “Survive the Ohio Territory,” a survival-themed camp, July 31-Aug. 4, from 10 a.m. to noon. The fee for each camp is $75.

The camp for children 13-15 is “Adventure Zone,” July 17-21, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., with a $125 fee.

The two mini camps for children 6-9 offer a condensed program with three days of camp involving hands-on activity, take-home crafts and lots of time outdoors. The sessions offered are “Stamp into Nature,” a letterboxing camp, June 12-14, from 9:30 a.m. to noon, and “Christmas in July,” a Christmas-themed camp, July 5-7, from 10 a.m. to noon. The fee for each camp is $30.
