Wilson Health recognizes new physicians

SIDNEY — The physicians who have joined Wilson Health in the past year, or will be joining them in the new future, were honored Wednesday evening during the Wilson Health New Physician Reception at Shelby Oaks Club. More than 250 people were in attendance for the event.

“As our patients continue to remain at the heart of our new Wilson Health mission, to spend more time doing what we love with those we love, we come to know that we are only as good as our medical staff,” said Mark Dooley, president and CEO at Wilson Health. “This is exactly what brings us together this evening …. to honor and recognize the newest members of the Wilson Health medical staff.”

“The Wilson Health administration and board of trustees focus a great deal of attention and resources in attracting quality providers to meet our communities health needs — it’s probably one of the most important jobs we have,” said Dooley, who recognized David Andrick for his comittment to the hosptial.

New physicians/providers recognized were:

• Dr. Anthony Beardmore, orthopedics, who is a board-certified and fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon that has joined the Wilson Health Medical Group. He will begin practicing at Wilson Health the first part of December. Beardmore received his doctor of medicine degree from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Maryland. He complet­ed an orthopedics residency at William Beaumont Army Medical Center in El Paso, Texas, followed by the completion of a John Feagin, M.D. – West Point sports medicine fellowship.

• Dr. James Chan, emergency medicine, who is a board-certified emergency medicine physician with Teamhealth and joined the Wilson Health medical staff this past summer as the medical director of the emergency department. Chan graduated from The University of California at Berkeley with a doctorate degree in electrical engineering, and he went on to attend medical school at The Ohio State University College of Medicine where he also completed his emergency medicine residency and cross-trained in trauma, orthopedics and pediatric patient management.

• Dr. Carrie Huber, OB/GYN, joined the Wilson Health Medical Group OB/GYN practice in July as a board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist. The practice now includes eight providers providing Women’s Health service for women throughout the region. Prior to joining Wilson Health, Huber was the department head and staff physician of the Van Wert County Hospital’s Obstetrics and Gynecology department in Van Wert, Ohio. Huber received her medical degree from the University of Louisville’s School of Medicine, followed by a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at TriHealth’s Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati. She has also performed mission work in East Africa as the Department Head at the Tenwek Mission Hospital in Bomet, Kenya for over a year.

• Dr. Noufal Jajeh, gastroenterology, joined the Wilson Health medical staff back in March as a board-certified and fellowship-trained gastroenterologist. Jajeh practices with Gastroenterology of West Central Ohio Inc. and cares for patients at Wilson Health. Jajeh brings more than 23 years of experience to Wilson, and specializes in comprehensive treatment of the digestives system. He received is medical degree from Damascus University Medical School in Damascus, Syria. Jajeh completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Cook County Hospital in Chicago. He also holds a master degree in Preventative Medicine from the University of Iowa.

• Dr. Cara Perez, pain management, joined Wilson Health’s medical staff earlier this year, as a board-certified interventional pain management specialist. Perez is affiliated with Orthopedic Associates of Southwest Ohio (OASWO). Perez has an interest in acupuncture and is working towards board-certification in this specialty. She graduated as chief resident from The Ohio State University’s College of Medicine and completed an internship in Emergency Medicine at Temple University. She also performed her residency in Anesthesia at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia.

• Dr. Geoffrey Siesel, radiology, is a practicing radiologist for Riverside Radiology and Interventional Associates, and serves as Medical Director of Diagnostic Imaging for Wilson Health. In this role, Siesel functions as an on-site presence, communicating and consulting with physicians, staff, and administration, and utilizing the support of RRIA’s subspecialized radiologists. Siesel received his training from Case Western Reserve University and The Ohio State University College of Medicine. He performed his internship and residency at Indiana University Health – Ball Memorial Hospital and University of Toledo Medical Center, respectively, and has held previous positions with DePuy Orthopaedics, Johnson & Johnson Inc., as well as University of Toledo Medical Center.

• Dr. Mussaret (Rett) Zuberi, emergency medicine, is a board-certified emergency medicine physician with Teamhealth and has recently joined the Wilson Health medical staff. Zuberi brings more than 30 years of emergency medicine experience and serves as the regional medical director within Teamhealth’s Midwest division. He oversees 10 ED contracts at numerous Ohio hospitals, including Wilson. He received his doctor of medicine degree from the University of Karachi in Karachi, Pakistan. He completed his Emergency Medicine residency and internship at the Metrohealth Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio. Zuberi is a colonel with the United States Air Force and likes to fly in his spare time.

Providers who were unable to attend the reception were Christina Markovitz, emergency medicine; Bernice Hawley, hospitalist care; Jamie Richards, ocupational health; Evette Shaner, orthopedics; Beth Warneck, orthopedics; Dr. Darick Jacobs, radiology; Bryan Stephens, emergency medicine; and Bryan Spreng, emergency medicine.

Food for the evening was provided by The Spot. The Sidney-Shelby County Chamber of Commerce partnered with Wilson Health for the event.
