THURSDAY

-8:46 p.m.: found property. A red walking cane with a gray handle was found at 115 E. South St., and placed into evidence for safekeeping.

-8:06 p.m.: theft. Caitlyn Svelund, 26, 1621 Fair Oaks Drive, reported a flat-screen television and folders with miscellaneous paperwork were taken from her residence. The rear glass sliding door was damaged, too. Total value estimated at $900.

-6:11 p.m.: warrant service. Police arrested Kenneth Bridges III, 30, 4363 Hardin-Wapakoneta Road, on an outstanding warrant out of Shelby County at 650 Riverside Drive.

-1 a.m.: driving under the influence. Police arrested Amellio Price, 26, of Piqua, on charges of driving under the influence and possession of crack cocaine.

Accidents

Daniel Wright, 40, North Ohio Avenue, was cited for assured clear distance after an accident on Thursday at 4:27 p.m.

Wright was stopped at a red light eastbound on Michigan Street at the intersection of Fourth Avenue. When the traffic light turned green, he started to go but didn’t realize the vehicle in front of him was stopped waiting for a vehicle turning into the turn lane. He struck the back of the vehicle, causing minor damage to both vehicles. The driver of the other vehicle was Jason Fields, 29, 726 Clinton Ave.

• An accident on Wednesday at 2:54 p.m. sent one person to the hospital with possible injuries.

Wesley Younkea, 21, 634 Ardiss Place, was on a motorcycle traveling westbound on Michigan Street in the right lane of travel. Johnathan Barhorst, 22, 230 New St., was traveling left from Michigan Street facing eastbound onto Fourth Avenue northbound at the intersection of Michigan Street and Fourth Avenue. Barhorst turned left into the path of Younkea, causing Younkea to strike him. The accident is still under investigation. Younkea was taken to the Wilson Memorial Hospital.

• Doug Selanders, 35, 339 N. Highland Ave., was cited for turning at an intersection after an accident on Monday at 4:18 p.m.

Selanders was turning left from Wilkinson Avenue to Carey Street when he struck a vehicle that was turning right on to Wilkinson from Carey. Selanders left the scene of the crash and later came into the police station to report it and claimed the other vehicle ran into him. Renah Schmidt, 81, 301 Charles Ave., was the driver of the other vehicle.

FRIDAY

-12:21 a.m.: medical. Medics responded to one call.

THURSDAY

-10:17 p.m.: accident with injuries. Medics provided mutual aid to Piqua at an auto accident on Interstate 75.

-8:39 a.m.-9:57 p.m.: medical. Medics responded to six calls.
