UVCC offers OSHA course

PIQUA — The Upper Valley Career Center Adult Division, 8901 Looney Road, Piqua, has announced a five-day course on Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) compliance.

The classes are scheduled for July 20-14 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily. The course is a comprehensive safety program designed for anyone involved in general industry. It is specifically designed for safety directors, foremen and field supervisors and will provide complete information on OSHA compliance issues.

The $324 fee covers training material and a certification card.

Topics to be covered include “Introduction to OSHA,” “Walking and Working Surfaces,” “Electrical Hazards,” “Exit Routes,” “Emergency Action Plans,” “Fire Prevention Plans,” “Fire Protection,” “Personal Protective Equipment,” “Material Handling,” “Hazard Communication/Global Harmonization System,” “Managing Safety and Health,” “Hazardous Materials,” “Permit Required Confined Space,” “Lockout/Tagout,” “Machine Guarding,” “Welding/Cutting/Brazing,” “Bloodborne Pathogens” and “Fall Protection.”
