Firm starts backpack program

SIDNEY — Advanced Composites (ACP), in Sidney, has announced its first employee backpack program.

Employees who registered by Aug. 5 will receive backpacks stuffed with school supplies for the children who are in their immediate families.

ACP has partnered with Walmart to acquire the backpacks and supplies. Walmart will fill the backpacks based on standard supply lists by grade. If a child receives something in a backpack that is not required by his teacher or school, that item can be exchanged at Walmart for something that is required.

ACP develops products and processes for automotive applications. With plants in Sidney and Nashville, Tennessee, it is headquartered in Sidney.
