SIDNEY — Rolling Hills Skate, 105 E. Russell Road, will celebrate October as National Roller Skating Month by offering free admission to families, Oct. 6, from 6 to 8 p.m.

Skate rental will cost $2 during the event.

In addition, the rink’s participation in the Roller Skating Association International’s (RSA) “Kids Skate Free” program will continue. At www.kidsskatefree.com, parents can print free roller skating passes for up to four children to roller skate twice per week at Rolling Hills Skate. That program is available all year.

The RSA encourages kids to become physically fit and active 365 days a year. This year’s theme is encouraging kids to get active and show their moves in the rink. #mysk8moves is a movement aimed at reminding kids that a healthy lifestyle and physical fitness can still be fun. Participants can post their photos to social media using the hashtag #mysk8moves to share their roller skating adventures.

“Rolling Hills Skate provides a fun, safe and family friendly entertainment for Shelby County. You can rent the rink for private parties, birthday parties, reunions, holiday parties, corporate parties and much more. We provide not only exercise, but a clean, safe, fun and wholesome environment where parents can be happy to bring their kids. Rolling Hills Skate is a skating business, but much more than that, we’re a family business. Our goal is to continue to build strong long-term relationships in the community with civic groups, church groups and school groups,” said owners Paula and Zach Hill in a recent press release.
