Peoples promotes 2, hires new branch manager

SIDNEY — the promotion of two current employees and the addition of a branch manager of Peoples Federal Savings & Loan have been announced by Debra Geuy, president and CEO.

Cheryl Gehret, former controller, has been promoted to vice president and chief financial officer. She is a CPA and is responsible for all financial and fiscal management aspects of the company’s operations, including business planning, accounting, reporting and budgeting. She has been employed by Peoples since 2005 and lives in the Versailles area with her husband, Brian, and their three sons.

Steve Goins, a 30-year employee, has been promoted to vice president of information technology and human resources. He is responsible for evaluation, implementation and support for all the financial institution’s internal and external automated information processing systems and services, including all software, hardware and related equipment. He is also responsible for human resource functions relating to payroll and benefit administration. Goins resides in Sidney with his wife, May Ann. They have two grown children.

Joel Schneider recently joined Peoples Federal and has been assistant vice president and Anna Branch manager. Schneider is responsible for managing the operation of the Anna branch and personnel. He is also responsible for lending functions including residential, commercial and consumer loans. Schneider graduated from Ohio State University in 2012 and has four years of banking experience. He resides in the rural Wapakoneta area.

“I am extremely proud that we have been able to promote Cheryl and Steve and I am looking forward to the added contributions I am confident Joel will provide,” said Geuy.
