Madison County shelter tops in state

LONDON, Ohio — The Coalition on Housing and Homelessness has given the homeless shelter operated by Bridges Community Action Partnership in Madison County the highest rating in the state of Ohio.

The rating is for their results in helping homeless families find permanent housing. No other homeless shelter in the state was within the 94 percent placement rate of the Bridges shelter.

The report indicated the shelter housed 51 hourseholds in the past 12 months. The shelter, known as PATH, the Positive Alternative to Homelessness, also receives funds fromt he EFSP program through the United Way of Clark, Champaign and Madison counties.
