THURSDAY

-8:44 p.m.: property damage accident. Deputies were dispatched to the 7000 block of Cisco Road in Cynthian Township.

-6:35 p.m.: investigative complaint. Deputies were dispatched to 14320 Ailes Road in Jackson Township on the report of a possible IRS scam.

Accidents

An ATV accident occurred on Friday at approximately 10:14 a.m. in the 13000 block of Ailes Road in Dinsmore Township. Preliminary investigation shows Jacob Reaman, 16, of Anna, was traveling southbound on Ailed Road with a 7-year-old female passenger on a Honda 4-wheel ATV.

The ATV ran off the right side of the roadway before striking an electrical pole. The ATV did rollover during the crash and Reaman was thrown. He was treated at the scene by Anna Rescue and transported by Careflight from the scene to Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton. The female passenger was transported by Anna Rescue to St. Rita’s Hospital in Lima for examination. The accident remains under investigation.

• No one was cited after an accident on Thursday at 10 a.m.

Keaton Topp, 16, Botkins, was traveling eastbound on Botkins Road when he swerved left to avoid a cat, then crossed the center line, ran off the left side of the roadway and went into a ditch before attempting to re-enter the roadway, then upon attempting to re-enter the roadway, he struck a telephone pole. The vehicle was damaged on the driver’s side and caused cosmetic damage to the pole along with a wire found down across the driveway.

• Jeremy Bogart, 24, Lima, failed to maintain assured clear distance causing an accident on Wednesday at 3:13 p.m.

Bogart was traveling eastbound behind another vehicle on state Route 47 that was in the process of turning north onto Patterson Halpin Road when he rear-ended the other vehicle because he did not maintain assured clear distance.

The driver of the other vehicle was Melissa Bowers, 53, 9700 Cisco Road.

Fire, rescue

FRIDAY

-1:49 p.m.: fire. Houston Rescue, Lockington Department, Sidney Medics, Deputies and Sidney Fire Department were dispatched to South Kuther and Miami River Road in Orange Township.

-12:42 p.m.: medical. Perry Port Salem and Deputies responded to the 6000 block of Guppy Street in Perry Township.

-11:46 a.m.: medical. Fort Loramie Rescue responded to the 10000 block of Mason Road in Turtle Creek Township.

-7:21 a.m.: medical. Perry Port Salem Rescue, Port Jefferson Fire Department and Deputies responded to the 19000 block of Dingman Slagle Road in Perry Township.
