Deputies investigate accidental shooting

SIDNEY — Shelby County Sheriff’s Office deputies investigated an accidental shooting Sunday afternoon.

According to the report, deputies responded to 17148 Sidney Platsville Road after receiving a report of a man being shot in the leg. After arriving on the scene, the deputy observed of Jeremy L. Turner, 37, of Conover, in the bathroom with a gun shot wound to his thigh.

Turner told deputies he was putting his gun in his holster and the gun went off. The round went through his upper thigh and exited the lower outer thigh.

Jerry Turner, who resides at the Sidney Platsville Road residence, told deputies that they had been shooting the gun earlier in the day and put a laser on the gun.

Perry Port Salem Rescue treated Turner at the scene and transported him to Wilson Health.
