Sheriff’s log

TUESDAY

-10:12 a.m.: suspicious person. Deputies were dispatched to 10962 Cammanche Drive in Washington Township on the report a suspicious person was inside of a foreclosed residence.

MONDAY

-11:21 a.m.: possessing criminal tools. Josh Randall Roe, 29, 16980 McCloskey School Road, Sidney, was arrested for possessing criminal tools.

-4:29 p.m.: vandalism. Deputies were dispatched to 596 S. Lindsey Road in Turtle Creek Township on the report of the garage and a vehicle were spray painted.

SUNDAY

-8:24 p.m.: hit-skip crash. Deputies are investigating a hit-skip crash where someone hit a power pole in the 13000 block of Lochard Road in Franklin Township. The unknown person was northbound in the 13000 block of Lochard Road when the vehicle went off the left side of the road an struck a utility pole. The vehicle came back onto the roadway and left the scene.

-8:22 p.m.: property damage crash. Deputies were dispatched to the 9000 block of Houston Road in Washington Township for a property crash.

-5:46 p.m.: suspicious vehicle. Deputies were dispatched to the 5000 block of Hardin Wapakoneta Road for a vehicle parked in a drive with a blacked out plate.

-5:06 p.m.: vehicle in ditch. Deputies were dispatched to the 2000 block of state Route 589 in Green Township where a truck was in the ditch and its trailer was in the roadway.

-4:01 p.m.: property damage crash. Deputies were dispatched to a two-vehicle crash at state Route 119 and Wones Road in Jackson Township.

FRIDAY

-4:13 p.m.: property damage. Debra H. Woodell, 4250 State Route 47W, Fort Loramie, reported someone ran over her trash can and was found in a ditch. She said she rents the trash can from Rumpke Trash Service and they required a report stating the trash can was damaged.

TUESDAY

-12:12 p.m.: theft. Anna Police, Botkins Police and Jackson Center Police were dispatched to 610 E. Pike St. on the report of someone breaking into the caller’s shed.

MONDAY

-5:20 p.m.: burglary. Jackson Center Police were dispatched to 610 E. Pike St. on the report of someone broke in and took a TV, stereo and other items.

-5:01 p.m.: investigative complaint. Botkins Police were dispatched to Gulf Express on East State Street on the report of a drive-off.

Fire, rescue

TUESDAY

-1:36 p.m.: medical. Anna Rescue and Botkins responded to the 300 block of East State Street in Dinsmore Township.

-10:44 a.m.: medical. Perry Port Salem Rescue responded to the 500 block of East State Street in Salem Township.

-8:20 a.m.: medical. Anna Rescue responded to the 13000 block of Pasco Montra Road in Jackson Township.

MONDAY

-1:56 p.m.: fire. Maplewood and Port Jefferson Fire were dispatched to the 22000 block of state Route 47 in Salem Township for an unknown type of fire behind a residence under construction.

-11:59 a.m.: fire. Lockington Fire was dispatched to 10275 Millcreek Road in Washington Township for an unknown type of fire.

-10:09 a.m.: medical. Perry Port Salem and Port Jefferson Fire were dispatched to the 5000 block of state Route 29 in Perry Township.

-9:32 a.m.: medical. Russia Fire and Houston Rescue were dispatched to the 1000 block of Rangeline Road in Loramie Township.

-8:44 a.m.,: medical. Perry Port Salem and Deputies were dispatched to the 6000 block of Jackson Road in Perry Township.

-7:06 a.m.: medical. Anna Rescue and Botkins Police were dispatched to the 100 block of North Main Street in Dinsmore Township.

-6:08 a.m.: medical. Anna Rescue was dispatched to the 100 block of Brookside Drive.

SUNDAY

-11:48 p.m.: medical. Anna Rescue was dispatched to the 15000 block of Amsterdam Road in Dinsmore Township.

-9:53 p.m.: medical. Anna Rescue was dispatched to the 13000 block of Pasco Montra Road in Jackson Township.

Crashes

Olivia Michelle Bowser, 16, of Houston, was westbound on Houston Road, just west of Hardin Wapakoneta Road when her vehicle crossed the center line, striking the guardrail on the south side of the road. The vehicle bounced off the guard rail crossing the center line again and struck the guard rail on the north side of the road.

The vehicle bounced off the guard rail again, crossed the center line and came to rest against the guard rail on the south side of the road.

Bower told the Deputy she had drifted to the right side of the road and over corrected, causing her to lose control and struck the guard rail.

The vehicle was disabled in the crash and was towed from the scene.

• Lisa D. Neer, 57, 502 E. Pike St., Jackson Center, was westbound on state Route 119 Sunday at 4:01 p.m. and was following a vehicle driven by Sean Curtis March, 16, of Jackson Center.

March slowed slow down to make a right hand turn onto Wones Road. Neer’s vehicle struck March’s vehicle on the right side. After striking the vehicle, Neer’s vehicle went off the roadway and came to rest in a field on the north west corner of the intersection.

Neer’s vehicle sustained minor damage. March’s vehicle sustained moderate damage.

Neither passenger in both vehicles, nor the drivers, were injured.

• Adam Christopher Lenz, 25, 17161 Sunset Drive, Sidney, was cited for leaving the scene of a crash following a one-vehicle crash Sunday at 12:54 a.m.

Lenz was eastbound in the 3000 block of Russell Road when he lost control of his vehicle on the ice-covered roadway. The vehicle slid across the roadway and spun 180 degrees. It then slid down into a ditch and overturned, striking a tree and brush. The vehicle came to rest on its right side.

Lenz left the crash scene without reporting it.

His vehicle was disabled in the crash and towed from the scene.

While investigating the crash, Terry C. Lenz, 59, 17161 Sunset Drive, Sidney, came to the scene since his son was involved in the crash. Terry Lenz’s name was processed through the computer system and deputies discovered he had an active felony warrant out of Shelby County Common Pleas Court. He was arrested and incarcerated at the Shelby County Jail.

• Jesse Greer, 21, 8890 North Street, Kettlersville, was traveling southbound on Kuther Road when he feel asleep at the wheel on Thursday at 9:44 p.m. He went off the left side of the road, slightly side-swiped a utility pole, leaving light paint marks, but no damage to the pole. He then struck a telephone junction box, breaking and bending it over and broke-off some small trees.

His vehicle sustained front-end damage and driver’s side damage, and scratches to the right side.

• Kathy L. Greve, 50, Piqua, was northbound on Patterson Halpin Road, just north of Hughes road on Tuesday, Jan. 10 at 7 a.m. At the bottom of the hill, the vehicle struck an icy patch and slid sideways. The vehicle slid off the east side of the road. The vehicle rolled over onto its top in the side ditch.

The weather and road conditions were very poor due to an ice storm that had hit the area prior to the crash.

The vehicle was disabled in the crash and towed from the scene.
