Troopers investigate 2-vehicle crash

WAPAKONETA — Troopers from the Wapakoneta Post of the Ohio Highway Patrol are investigating a tw0-vehicle, serious injury crash, which occurred Saturday, Jan. 21, at 5:39 p.m. on U.S. 33 west of Kuenstle Road in Auglaize County.

Mark Moyler, 45, of Waynesfield, was driving a 2015 jeep Renegade SUV and was traveling east on U.S. 33. he went left of center and struck a westbound 2001 Mercury Sable driven by Daniel Case, 26, of Wapakoneta. The Jeep came to rest on the road and the Mercury was forced off the north side of the road, coming to rest in the ditch. Both vehicles sustained heavy disabling damage and were towed from the scene.

Moyler sustained incapacitating injuries and was transported by Uniopolis EMS to Lima Memorial Hospital, Lima. Case sustained serious injuries and was transported by CareFlight to Miami Valley Hospital, Dayton.

Agencies assisting at the scene included the St. Johns Fire and EMS, Uniopolis Fire and EMS and Auglaize County Sheriff’s Office.

Seat belts appear to have been used by both drivers. Alcohol use is not suspected. The crash remains under investigation.
