Fort Loramie students participate in math-a-thon

FORT LORAMIE — Fifty one Fort Loramie Elementary School students recently participated in St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital Math-a-thon.

St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital is located in Memphis, Tennessee and was founded by the late entertainer, Danny Thomas. St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is a world leader in the fight against diseases like cancer, AIDS, and sickle cell disease. Fort Loramie elementary students raised $2,671.23.

The students who collected the most money were:

• Fourth-grader Jada Flint, daughter of Chad and Angela Flint, collected $323.46

• Second-grader Sammy Goubeaux, son of Brian and Jill Goubeaux, collected $185

• Kindergartener Kiera Harrod, daughter of Chet and Ashley Harrod, collected $145

• Fourth-grader Ashlee Hess, daughter of Neil and Marsha Hess, collected $125

• Third-grader Mackenzie Holthaus, daughter of Ralph and Stephanie Holthaus, collected $125

• Sixth-grader Kaitlyn Grillot, daughter of Chuck and Lisa Grillot, collected $101.27

• Third-grader Corey Richwine, son of Theresa Richwine, collected $100

• Fourth-grader Sunni Voisard, daughter of Roger and Kristi Voisard, collected $100

“Thank you to the Fort Loramie community and family members who donated so generously to the Math-a-thon. Our students did very well this year. They topped last year’s collection by $389,” Julie Moeller, Math-a-thon coordinator, said.
