SIDNEY — The Shelby County Coin Club has announced that its annual scholarship will be awarded to Aaron Jensen, son of Sherri and Ken Jensen, of Sidney, this year.

The scholarship winner is determined based on a written essay on a numismatic topic. Jensen chose the topic of putting women on American currency.

Jensen is valedictorian of his class at Sidney High School and is a member of National Honor Society, student government, swim team and Quiz Bowl. One of his hobbies is collecting U.S. coins. He volunteers at the American Legion Post 217 and is employed part time at Dorothy Love Retirement Community. He plans to attend Indiana-Purdue Fort Wayne University to study electrical engineering.
