SIDNEY — The Sidney Noon Kiwanis Club has named James “Jay” Curlis its September 2016 Teen of the Month.

Curlis is a senior at Christian Academy Schools and ranks second in his class, with a grade point average of 3.94.

He is the son of Robert and Kimberly Curlis and has three siblings, Kayla, 19, Kelly, 14, and Katelyn, 3.

His academic activities, honors and awards include National Honor Society, the College Credit Program, Buckeye Boys State, teacher’s assistant and receiving the 2016 Honda Math Award.

Curlis participates in track, soccer, basketball, archery and student council. He is a member of the Chess Club and church youth group, is a cashier at Sidney Hometown Pharmacy and owns his own mowing service.

After high school, he wants to obtain a master’s degree in business with a minor in marketing.
