ASHLAND — Katherine Burke of Minster, Ohio, is a member of the Running Club at Ashland University.

Burke is majoring in nursing. She is a 2016 graduate of Minster High School.

The Running Club’s goal is to create a community for students who enjoy running and who want to meet new people. The club creates a group with a fun environment that makes running more enjoyable for those who want to work out, need running partners, or want to create new friendships. The Running Club meets for regular practices twice per week with an optional workout once per week. Some group members run every day and the club encourages those who don’t to run more often. The participants enter road races every couple of months to see personal improvement. Outside of running, the club plans movie nights and game days for social meetings.

Ashland University, ranked in the top tier of colleges and universities in U.S. News and World Report’s National Universities category for 2017, is a mid-sized, private university located a short distance from Akron, Cleveland and Columbus, Ohio.
