Candidates file petitions before filing deadline

SIDNEY — The filing deadline for the November election is quickly approaching and candidates have been filing their petitions with the Shelby County Board of Elections. Aug. 5 is the deadline for petitions of candidates in nonpartisan races to be filed with the Shelby County Road of Elections. Write in candidates must file declarations of intent by Aug 24.

Robert Smith, 1226 Turner, Sidney, has filed his petition for re-election to the Sidney City Schools Board of Education. Newcomer Mandi Croft, 213 S. Wagner St., Sidney, has filed her petition for one of the board of education seat. There are three seats available in the November election.

Craig A. Bergman, 4317 State Route 362, Fort Loramie, has filed a petition to serve as trustee for McLean Township. Joan M. Buehler, 8903 North St., Kettlersville, has filed a petition for re-election as the Van Buren Township fiscal officer.

Kathleen A. Eshleman, 202 N. Linden St., Anna, has filed her petition for re-election to Anna Village Council. Denise Palmer, 17030 E. Mason Road, Sidney, has filed a petition for fiscal officer for Salem Township. She is the incumbent for the office.

Alan Luthman, 16002 McCartyville Road, Anna, has filed his petition for re-election as a Van Buren Township trustee. Daniel A. Knoop, 10700 Pasco-Montra Road, Sidney, is seeking re-election as a trustee for Salem Township.

Debra Bodenmiller, 9111 County Road 25A, Sidney, has filed her petition for the Franklin Township fiscal officer seat. She is the incumbent.

There are three seats up for election for the Houston Local Schools Board of Education. Incumbents Stephen Mowery, 7101 Wright-Moyer Road, Sidney, and Joel Knouff, 4637 State Route 47, Fort Loramie, and Jason Shaffer, 8695 Fessler-Buxton Road, Piqua, have all filed their petitions.

Bonnie Paulus, 4376 Rangeline Road, Russia, has filed her petition for the Loramie Township fiscal officer. She is currently the township’s fiscal officer.

Three people have filed their petitions for the Fairlawn Local Schools Board of Education. There are two seats open. Incumbents Matthew Caldwell, 855 N. State Route 589, Conover, and Robert Gold, 22100 State Route 47, Maplewood, and newcomer Michael Henman, 7540 Pasco-Montra Road, Sidney, have filed their petitions.

Craig L. Ambos, 15111 Lock Two Road, Botkins, has filed his petition for the Dinsmore Township fiscal officer’s seat. Casey Dietz, 305 Spruce St., has filed a petition for re-election to the Botkins Village Council.

Mark R. Goubeaux, 416 E. State St., Botkins, has filed his petition for re-election to the Botkins Local School Board of Education. Matt Hoying, 77 Eastview Drive., Fort Loramie, has filed his petition for re-election to the Fort Loramie Village Council.

Greg C. Borchers, 135 S. Liberty St., Russia, has filed a petition for Russia Village Council. He is an incumbent for the seat. Dale M. Goubeaux, 1077 Fessler-Buxton Road, Russia, has filed his petition for re-election as trustee for Fort Loramie Township.

Three candidates have filed petitions for three seats on the Fort Loramie Local Schools Board of Education. Newcomers Vernon F. Siegel Jr., 8727 Wright-Puthoff Road, Sidney, and Jennifer Wilt, 20 Indian Trail, Fort Loramie, along with incumbent Diane L. Pleiman, 2757 Schlater Road, Fort Loramie, have filed their petitions.

Adam Schmiesing, 78 S. Main St., Fort Loramie, has filed his petition for re-election to the Fort Loramie Village Council. Scott Phlipot, 2340 Russia-Houston Road, Russia, has filed his petition for an unexpired term as trustee for Loramie Township. He currently is the office holder for the seat.

Cynthia Goubeaux, 120 North St., Russia, has filed her petition for re-election to Russia Village Council. Matt Barhorst, 19800 Pence Road, Maplewood, is seeking re-election as a Perry Township trustee.

Vicki S. Smith, 434 W. Main St., Port Jefferson, has filed her petition for re-election to the Port Jefferson Village Council. Brian Pinchot, 11286 Marshall Road, Versailles, is seeking election to the Russia Local Schools Board of Education.

Eric Kaminsky, 8915 State Route 274, Kettlersville, has filed his petition for re-election as the village of Kettlersville’s mayor. Scott Klopfenstein, 301 Oak St., Jackson Center, has filed his petition for re-election as mayor for the village of Jackson Center.

Adam Reiss, 9650 State Route, 119, has filed his petition for the Anna Local Schools Board of Education.
