MCCARTYVILLE — The Shamrock Stitchers held a meeting on Feb. 28 in the basement of the Sacred Heart Church. New members were welcomed. Nominations were made and officers were elected.

The new Shamrock Stitchers officers for 2016 are Hannah Eilerman, president; Claire Spicer, vice president; Ally Bertke, secretary; Emily Anthony, treasurer; Ava Bertke, recreation leader; Addison Brewer, news reporter; and Ashley Anthony and Grace Eilerman, health and safety officers.

Member enrollment forms were distributed to be reviewed and completed by the members. Demonstrations were given by Ava Bertke who showed how to make ice cream and Courtney Dulaney who taught members how to make fortune tellers. The club discussed ideas for service projects.

The next meeting will be held on April 3 at 6 p.m. at the Sacred Heart Church in McCartyville. New members are always welcome.
