Lock One announces season

NEW BREMEN — Lock One Community Arts has announced its 2016-2017 season of performances in the James F. Dicke Auditorium of New Bremen High School.

All performances are scheduled for 3 p.m. on their respective dates.

Opening the season Oct. 9 will be “Shades of Buble SM, a three-man salute to Canadian singer Michael Buble.

Juggernaut Jug Band performs Nov. 13. The ensemble uses washboards, washtubs, kazoos, jugs and various other hardware. It has been hailed by the Washington Post as not letting “virtuosity get in the way of having fun.”

Just in time for the holiday season, River City Brass with 28 band members performs in concert on Dec. 4. RCB has performed at Carnegie Hall, Michigan’s Interlochen Center for the Arts, Indiana’s Conner Prairie, has appeared on “The Today Show” as well as NPR’s “Performance Today.”

DANU comes from Ireland to perform on March 12. DANU has toured Europe and North America, giving standing-room-only concerts which have been true events of high-energy performance and a glorious mix of ancient and current Irish music.

Rounding out the season, April 2, will be a performance by Well-Strung. Based in New York City, this string quartet blends vocals and strings, mixing classical music with today’s pop.
