SIDNEY — The 2014 Wilson Memorial Hospital Foundation Golf Classic, scheduled for Monday, July 14, still has slots open for willing golfers.


The outing will take place at the Shelby Oaks Golf Club, with proceeds to build the Wilson Foundation’s endowment fund to help support the Hospital’s future health care needs and capital purchases.


Titanium sponsors for this year’s annual golf event include Advanced Composites Inc., Honda of America Manufacturing Inc., Kettering Health Network, NK Logistics Group, NKTelco and Premier Physician Services Inc.


“Our first outing in 1995 netted $20,000. Since then, it has grown considerably and is one of the region’s premier golf events,” said Bonnie Faulkner, executive director of the Wilson Memorial Hospital Foundation. “Typically we host about 160 golfers with strong support from both community and businesses. In some years, we have had over 200 participants and are hopeful that we can boost the attendance to fill the remaining open slots.”


The handicapped 18-hole scramble will begin with a shotgun start at 11 a.m. and an extensive brunch from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. is sponsored by Kettering Anesthesia Associates, Inc. Beverages and snacks on each Par 3 hole are provided by Orthopedic Associates of SW Ohio.


Green fees sponsorships include West – NK Logistics, North and South - Kettering Health Network. Cart sponsorships are also available and allow a business or individual to sponsor a cart for $100 and, in turn, receive very visible promotion on the cart and in the program. Cocktails and dinner will be at 5 p.m., followed by awards and prizes. Dinner, underwritten by NKTelco, includes a prime rib and chicken buffet and is catered by The Spot Restaurant.


One week at a Westin Resort villa on Hilton Head Island is the “closest to the pin” prize this year. Details about the trip will be provided at the golf outing. Cash prizes will be awarded for the top three teams. Door and raffle prizes will be available for all golfers. The winner of the putting contest sponsored by the Wilson Memorial Hospital Foundation a $400 cash prize.


Sponsorship levels include Titanium level at $3,100, Platinum level at $1,100 and over and Diamond level at $1,100, all include four golfers. Gold level, $825, includes three golfers, Silver level, $550, includes two golfers and Bronze level, $275, includes one golfer. Sponsorships also include green fees and carts, brunch, beverages and snacks, dinner and the chance to have the winner’s name on the sponsorship banner and in the program. All golfers are included in raffles and Skins.

Since 1995 our outing has raised nearly $733,200. It is amazing what teamwork and commitment can do!”


Committee members for this year’s golf classic are John Wolfinger, Marla Flinn, Deanna Kindell and Bonnie Faulkner.
