Letter to the editor:

On behalf of the Community Christmas Dinner, I would like to extend an invitation to all citizens of Shelby County to attend the 35th Annual Community Christmas Dinner on Saturday, Dec. 10, 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. to be held in the E.M.A. building (also known as: the Civil Defense Building) located at the Shelby County Fairgrounds.

There is no charge for the dinner.

The dinner is intended as a time to bring the community together to have fellowship and a good meal regardless of financial status.

Live Christmas music will be provided by the Anna Jazz Band. It really puts you in the mood for the holidays.

We are fortunate to have volunteers dedicated to our community. Some volunteers have a long history with the dinner. It is really exciting to see volunteers come back year after year to help with the event.

We will also be receiving a visit from Santa; who will be standing by to pass out candy and treats, and listen to the wish lists from the children. The sharing of a holiday meal and festivities are coordinated and prepared in the spirit of the season. Everything is free! We invite and encourage all to attend.
