The boys sectional basketball tournament draws were held Sunday, and the Sidney Yellow Jackets drew a tough assignment in the first round.

Sidney was voted the No. 6 seed with its 14-6 record. They play a Tecumseh team that is seeded No. 8 but has a better record on the year at 18-3. Should the Jackets get past that game, they would likely face No. 5 seed Xenia, which drew Troy in the first round.

Sidney’s first game is Feb. 19 at 7 p.m. at Vandalia.

Division 3

In D-3 at Northmont, Anna is the No. 7 seed and takes on 7-12 Northwestern on Feb. 10 at 7:30. The Rockets got a good draw, since the second-round game would be against either Dixie or Franklin Monroe, both 9-10. But waiting in the finals would likely be top seed Dayton Northridge.

Versailles is in the sectional at Belmont. The Tigers are the No. 3 seed and face 5-14 Arcanum on Feb. 20 at 5 p.m.

Division 4

Jackson Center got the No. 1 seed, Russia No. 2, Triad No. 3 and Fairlawn No. 4.

All but Russia are in the bottom bracket at Piqua.

The tournament starts with three games Feb. 19 starting at 5:30, and three more the following day.

Russia faces Bradford Feb. 19 at 5:30, Fort Loramie plays Mechanicsburg in the second game, and Houston faces Mississinawa in the third game that day.

On Feb. 20, Triad and Riverside play at 5:30, Jackson and Ansonia at 7 and Botkins and Covington at 8:30

• In the D-4 sectional/district at Wapakoneta, Minster was the No. 4 seed and took a first-round bye. They will play either New Bremen or Ada on Feb. 26 at 8 p.m.

New Knoxville plays Hardin Northern in the first round on Feb. 23.

Lima Perry is the top seed, St. Henry second and Fort Recovery third.
