Lady Cavs clinch winning record

TROY — The Lehman girls clinched a winning season Monday night, going on the road and beating Troy Christian in a non-league game to end the regular season, 41-38.

The win, Lehman’s fifth in a row, gave the Lady Cavs a 12-10 record heading into Division 4 Sectional Tournament play on Feb. 16. They will play the winner of the Jackson Center-Troy Christian game.

Lehman led 14-9 after one quarter Monday, and by just three at the half. It remained tight the rest of the way.

Allie Hall led the Lady Cavs with a double-double. She had 17 points, pulled down 10 rebounds and hit 50 percent from the field (6 for 12).

Alanna O’Leary continued her excellent play of late, tossing in 12 points. Hannah Fogt also pulled down 10 rebounds and Brogan McIver had three assists.

Jackson Center 49, Covington 30

COVINGTON — Jackson Center followed up its big upset of state-ranked Anna Saturday with a 49-30 victory over Covington in a non-league girls basketball game Monday night.

The win gave the Lady Tigers a final regular season record of 15-7, and they will next play Troy Christian Saturday in the Division 4 Sectional at Sidney.

The Lady Tigers held Covington to just 11 points in the first half to take a 13-point lead at the intermission.

Nicole Fogt led the Lady Tigers with a double-double. She had 12 points and 11 rebounds. Cassie Meyer hit four three-pointers and finished with 17 points.
