Anna golfers first in W-G Invitational

WAYNESFIELD — Three County teams were among four teams that battled it out for the top spot in the Waynesfield-Goshen Boys Golf Invitational, held Monday.

And when it was over, the Anna Rockets emerged with the first-place trophy, shooting a 331 to beat out Fort Loramie with a 335. Lima Temple Christian shot a 337 and Fairlawn had a 344.

Fairlawn’s Mason Jones came away with medalist honors after shooting a 78. That was just one stroke better than a whole host of players, including Zach Watren and Eli Kuck of Anna, Brad Gottemoeller of Fort Loramie and Tyler Lachey of Lehman.

Also contributing to Anna’s top score were Mason Platfoot with an 80 and Evan Bensman with a 93.

CELINA — Fort Loramie took on Fort Recovery in boys golf action Tuesday at the Mercer Elks and won 171-185.

Brad Gottemoeller shot a 38 for medalist honors, Mitchell Puthoff had a 42, Eli Rosengarten 45 and Craig Eilerman 46.

Minster 181, Coldwater 232

CELINA — Minster also played at the Mercer Elks, taking on Coldwater in a Midwest Athletic Conference dual.

Minster won 181-232, with Jordan Brackman leading the way with a 42. Adam Knapke and Logan Lazier both shot 46 and Ben Stubbs added a 47.
