SIDNEY — The Sidney Women’s Tennis League finished its 2016 summer tennis season on Monday of this week.
League players this year included Kelly Bickford, Laura Cianciolo, Jessica Fortkamp, Jill Gates, Alissa Geise, Emily Goubeaux, Amber Helman, Pam Kerrigan, Annalisa Reinhart, Julie Rismiller, Andrea Sargeant, Joan Schroeder, Karen Schlagetter, Elaine Schweller-Snyder, Gabriella Smith, Brenda Spangler, Rikki Unterbrink, Amy West and Anne Westerheide. Interestingly enough there were two rainouts recorded this season.
At the end of the season get-together hosted by Anne Westerheide, awards were given for several achievements.
In the advanced division, first place for highest average games per match went to Anne Westerheide and Joan Schroeder in a tie, second place to Amy West, and third place to Gabriella Smith. The most consistent score in the advanced division went to Annalisa Reinhart.
In the beginner division, the highest average games per match went to Elaine Schweller-Snyder, second to Jessica Fortkamp, and third to Andrea Sargeant. The most consistent score in the beginner division went to Schweller-Snyder.
The Sidney Women’s tennis league plays on Monday nights starting in June on the Sidney High School tennis courts. Anyone interested for next year may contact any of this year’s players for more information.
