Summer trapshooting winnersannounced by Sportsmen Club

NEWPORT — The Newport Sportsmen Club’s summer trapshooting league was completed recently and the top shooters honored.

The Dale Meyer Award for top overall shooter went to Britt Havenar for his 338 score out of 350 while shooting for the Havenar Engineering and Survey 1 team.

In the 16-yard competition, the Sedam Landscaping 2 team of Rick Ewing, Aaron Guittar, Kirk Robbins, Joe Wilson and Mel Maggert took first with a 932 score. They beat out the Sedam 1 team of Ewing, Guittar, Robbins, Gary Stockslager and Maggert.

The same teams finished 1-2 in the handicap division, with Sedam 2 having 863 and Sedam 1 849.
