JACKSON CENTER — Jackson Center moved within one game of clinching the County championship with a 3-0 victory over Botkins in volleyball action Thursday.

The top-ranked Lady Tigers won 25-8, 25-11, 25-13, and are now 9-0 in the County and hold a two-game lead with only three to play. Overall, they are now 17-0.

Botkins falls to 2-8 in the league and is 7-12 overall.

Cassie Meyer had 11 kills, nine digs and six aces for the Lady Tigers, Alicia Kessler, Raquel Kessler and Camryn Hoehne all had five kills, and Christen Ware and Vanessa Winner had four kills each.

Kamryn Elchert had 18 assists, and Hoehne added nine assists and three ace serves.

Sarah Bergman had eight kills and four blocks for the Lady Trojans and Jenna Pitts had 12 digs.

Jackson won the junior varsity game 2-0.

Anna 3, Russia 1

RUSSIA — Anna outlasted Russia in a long county match Thursday, defeating Russia 3-1.

The scores were 25-18, 35-33, 22-25, 25-16.

The Lady Rockets go to 6-4 in the County and 9-8 overall with Lehman coming to the Anna gym Saturday.

Russia drops to 4-5 in the league and 8-10 on the year.

Krista Gehret had 21 kills to lead Anna, Ashley Landis added 10, Emma Meyer nine and Kennedey Glover eight.

Lexi Wells had 42 assists, Abby Counts 23 digs, Wells 15 digs and Carly Becker 14 digs.

Glover had 10 total blocks, including five solo, and Meyer had 12 total blocks, four of them solo.

For the Lady Raiders, Cameo Wilson had 15 kills, Laurissa Poling 10 kills, Morgan Wenrick eight kills and Claudia Counts six kills.

Whitney Pleiman had 33 digs, Poling added seven blocks, Jenna Cordonnier had 35 assists and eight digs, Chloe Sherman added 10 digs and Katie Swartz finished with eight digs.

Anna won the JV game 25-16, 25-14.

Fairlawn 3, Houston 0

HOUSTON — Fairlawn raised its record in the County to 5-4 with a 3-0 win over Houston in league action Thursday night.

The scores were 25-20, 25-19, 25-18.

The Lady Jets are 11-8 overall, while Houston drops to 0-10 in the County and 2-14 overall.

For Fairlawn, Audrey Francis had 18 kills and 28 digs, Lauren Dudgen had eight kills, Chelsie Brautigam had 28 assists, Jeanelee Branscum had 24 digs, and Ashlyn Weigandt had eight digs and two aces.

Riverside 3, Waynesfield 0

DEGRAFF — Riverside upped its record to 4-1 in the Northwest Central Conference with a 3-0 win over Waynesfield in action Thursday.

The Lady Pirates won 26-24, 25-18, 25-8, and it upped their overall record to 13-4.

Marissa Davis had 16 kills and 13 digs for the Lady Pirates, Shelby Giles seven kills, Helena Faulder 17 assists and Lauren Anderson 12 digs.

The JV game went to Waynesfield in two, 25-15, 25-17. Kyrsten Poe and Leah Kelsey each had three aces.
