TROY — Sidney was unable to do much against a strong Troy squad in volleyball action Tuesday, losing 3-0 on the road in Greater Western Ohio Conference American North action.

The scores were 25-7, 25-13, 25-18, and the loss dropped the Lady Jackets to 6-6 in the North and 10-8 overall with Tipp City coming to town Saturday.

Troy is now 15-2 overall.

Amanda Thomas led Sidney in kills with five.

The junior varsity game also went to Troy 25-21, 25-21.

Payton Boshears had three aces and nine digs for Sidney, and Lea Baldwin had two aces.

Lehman 3, Northern 1

DOLA — Lehman defeated Hardin Northern 3-1 in Northwest Central Conference play Tuesday, the scores being 25-23, 25-27, 25-17, 25-20.

The win put the Lady Cavs at 5-0 in the NWCC and 10-9 overall and it was their fourth consecutive victory.

Sidney Chapman was outstanding at the net, pounding out 29 kills and picking up 18 digs to lead the Lady Cavs.

Lauren Larger had 12 kills and Ellie Scott added eight. And both Alexis Snipes and Lauren McFarland had 23 assists.

Madison Hussey had 17 digs, Camille Odle added 10 digs and Malorie Hussey had four blocks.

The Lady Cavs return to action today at Upper Scioto Valley.

Junior high

In junior high volleyball, Riverside’s 7th grade lost to Hardin Northern 25-21, 25-14. Hanna Asbury served two aces for Riverside.

The 8th grade won 25-23, 18-25, 25-18 to go to 13-5 on the year.

Lauryn Sanford had five kills and 10 ace serves for Riverside, Sierra Snow had three kills and nine assists, Allison Knight and Catalina Notestine had three kills each and Hanna Copper served four aces.
